It’s a rather stupid assignment…
To write about my closest friend
He says it’s a way for us to become better teammates
I say it’s a load of bullshit
But I must think of the right words to say
Be conscious of how I plan to put this in writing…
How ironic that the first image to come to my mind is none other than you:
How anyone like you can stand there and brag about becoming the best Hokage ever is beyond me.
And yet I look into your eyes:
And wonder why I believe you can really do it.
You keep chasing me…
…needing to be as strong as me…
…wanting to best me in everything…
You infuriate me…
…and yet leave me flustered and confused at times.
I wish I could get rid of you.
Simply ignore you.
But the collages of my memory
…remind me of just why I ‘died’ for you.
The warmth of your arms made me happy
Yes, I did feel it and wished to remain that way for as long as I could.
But I fear that you are beginning to surpass me.
I see it in your eyes and I worry that I will never measure up.
I don’t know what the future holds for us
For perhaps a day will come
When I will betray you…
When you will hate me and wish I had never existed
I wonder…
What will become of us then, Naruto?
For even though I will never say these words out loud…
Your smile and your kindness…
…will always be cherished within my heart…
For you truly are and will always be…
